Quarterfinals: Stats/plan

This was set to publish this morning, but obviously that didn't happen. Won't try that again.

Only three games this week, so that makes figuring out a coverage plan fairly simple. Here's who will be where on Friday, as well as our weekly statistical leaders:

No. 2 South Fayette/No. 10 Beaver Falls, Moon -- Mackey
Story: SF has ended Beaver Falls' season each of the past two years, and the Lions will try to look more like the 2010 team that won a WPIAL title than the 2011 one that didn't make it past the quarterfinals.

No. 3 Wash High/No. 6 Seton-La Salle, Canon-Mac -- Dugan
Story: SLS has a great run defense; Wash High has Shai McKenzie. Which one will win out when these former Class AA Century Conference rivals meet?

No. 5 Monessen/No. 13 Neshannock, Char-Houston -- Jacobsen
Story: Neshannock is not really a No. 13 seed, and quarterbacks Ernie Burks (Neshannock) and Chavas Rawlins (Monessen) are two of the WPIAL's best. Lots of athletes, lot of speed.
