Wash High's Kelly to Youngstown State

Jaylin Kelly, a linebacker for the Washington High School football team, tweeted late Monday that he had committed to play football next season at Youngstown State University.

Kelly was an Observer-Reporter Elite 11 pick after making 114 tackles this past season for a team that went 12-1 and reached the WPIAL Class AA final at Heinz Field. He also had eight sacks, an interception, a fumble recovery and forced five fumbles.

Two weeks ago, Kelly was selected selected to play on the Pennsylvania Team in the 56th Big 33 Football Classic, which will be held Saturday, June 15 at Hersheypark Stadium. Pennsylvania will play Maryland.

Kelly, who had other scholarship offers Eastern Michigan, Delaware and New Hampshire,  split time at fullback this past season, carrying 46 times for 280 yards and a touchdown.
