Ringgold boys looking for coach

Not exactly breaking news here, but with most basketball teams having concluded the regular season, at least one program -- the Ringgold boys -- will be looking for a head coach for next year.

Pete Logan, who won WPIAL titles at Brownsville and Clairton, has stepped down as coach of the Rams, a position he had held since 2008.

Ringgold athletic director Ron McMichael told me this morning that Logan had approached him in mid-January about changes with his job as a manager at Rose Plastic and how it might cut into his schedule, submitting a letter of resignation shortly thereafter.

Logan had compiled a 37-96 record at the school, though the Rams went just 1-11 in Section  4-AAA, 3-18 overall this past season -- though they did beat Charleroi, 60-42, to open the season.

McMichael said he's required to post the position internally at first. The hope is to open it to public applicants in the next week or so.
